Planting Tips
Correctly planting your avocado tree is vital to making sure your tree gets well established.
Avocado trees require excellent drainage to help prevent phytophthora.
Before planting, paint the stem with a white water based paint all the way down the stem to protect your tree from harsh sun burn.
Avocado trees enjoy warm and sunny positions out of strong winds.
Begin by making a mounded bed of soil 750mm-1metre off the ground. Dig a hole on this mound slightly bigger than your potted tree. Then gently tap your tree out of the pot. The top of the growing media should sit flush with the ground.
Fill the sides of the hole back up with top soil, firming the ground with your hands, once the hole is backfilled, water in as soon as possible.
